DAVID ANDERS joins iZOMBIE. The new show from VERONICA MARS creator Rob Thomas

iZombie is a supernatural crime procedural based on the publication from DC Comics's Vertigo imprint. It's being adapted for The CW by the Veronica Mars team of Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero. The pilot is about to start shooting, and if successful a series will join the 2014/15 line-up.

iZombie is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on Liv, a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.

Whilst there's been no announcement on who will play Liv, some of the supporting roles have been cast. First up is David Andres, and just like his Alias days, he's playing the bad guy. His character's name is Blaine, an entitled rich kid who bites off more than he can chew in the drug business. Is there a zombie reference in there, or am I reading too much into the description?

Malcolm Goodwin joins the cast as Clive. A detective who recently received a promotion from vice to homicide but has been floundering for his first two months and is in desperate need of making a case. Though dubious at first about Liv’s “psychic” powers, she demonstrates too much accuracy for him not to take her seriously.

Alexander Krosney plays Peyton, Liv’s best friend and roommate who is baffled by Liv’s recent behavior and feels like they’re drifting apart.

It seems like an interesting project, I'd give it a go on the strength of Rob Thomas alone, but with the addition of David Anders, who excels in these types of roles, I'm rooting for iZombie to make it to series.

What do you think?
