BIRDMAN soars to new heights
Michael Keaton is still, in my book, the best Batman there has been, so this project is one I've been eagerly awaiting as it sees him back in the superhero business...of sorts.
Birdman, or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance, is a black comedy that tells the story of an actor (Michael Keaton) famous for portraying an iconic superhero, who struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself. Also starring Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts.
There's been an amazing buzz around this movie since it opened the Venice Film Festival last month, receiving almost unanimous praise, with both Keaton and Norton earlier contenders for Oscar nods next year.
There's a new poster for the movie (above) which opens very soon in the US, October 17th, as for us here in the UK, well we have to wait until January 2nd 2015. In the meantime take a look at the International trailer to whet your appetite...
