September 30th
Not the best coat to wear when there's a Yeti or two around, eh Pat? Good job it's not the springtime when they're in heat. I doubt the BBC insurance covers that!

Anyway, Saturday September 30th 1967 brought with it part one of The Abominable Snowmen, which 6.3 million viewers were cowering behind the sofa throughout.

One more Doctor Who adventure received its debut broadcast on this day in the show's history and it's from 1978 when we have another new story beginning, this time for the Fourth Doctor. The second chapter in The Key To Time arc arrived in the form of The Pirate Planet. A very nice 9.1 million viewers sat down to watch.

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
