Locke is an interesting idea for a movie. The film is shot in real time over 84 minutes and the only character you actually see is Tom Hardy's Ivan Locke, who is driving to London to be present at the birth of his child. Voices can be heard on the telephone throughout the movie, including those of Andrew Scott, Ben Daniels and Olivia Colman.
Doesn't sound like a riveting movie does it? But the early word from advance screenings is that Tom Hardy carries the movie incredibly well and the actors we hear are all exceptional, but we'd expect nothing less from Andrew Scott!
Steven Knight, he of Dirty Pretty Things, wrote the script and also directs.
Locke arrives in UK cinemas on April 18th.
