The recently announced Supernatural spin-off has itself a new name, and has cast a lead actress.
Originally entitled Supernatural: Tribes, the new spin-off will now be known as Supernatural: Bloodlines. The show will follow the mafia-like monster families that secretly
control Chicago's seedy underworld. These clans must contend with a new
Hunter who is hell-bent on purging the Windy City of any and all
supernatural influence.
The cast already includes Nathaniel
Buzolic (The Vampire Diaries) and Lucien Laviscount (Skins), along with
Danielle Savre (Heroes), Sean Faris (The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little
Liars) and Stephen Martines (The Closer, The Vampire Diaries), and now it has been announced that Melissa Roxburgh will join them as a lead character called Violet.
Violet is a member of a powerful werewolf pack who must
maintain a guise of normality in the midst of her forbidden love for
family rival, David (Buzolic). However, when threatened, the claws are
quick to come out..
Fans of Supernatural may remember Melissa Roxburgh as Lila Taylor in the season 7 episode Time After Time. More recently she appeared in two episodes of Arrow as Thea Queen's friend
Blake.
Supernatural: Bloodlines will debut on April 29th with a backdoor pilot as part of this season of Supernatural.
