The first Star Wars spin-off movie, Star Wars: Rogue One, will be arriving December 16th 2016. Gareth Edwards is behind the camera and the first actress cast is Felicity Jones, who recently garnered an Academy Award nomination and critical acclaim for her performance in The Theory of Everything.
We know that there's also at least another couple of Star Wars spin-off movies to come, but what will they be? We just don't know. Possibly Boba Fett, possibly Yoda, possibly Han, your guess is as good us ours!
In the meantime just for fun, inspired by some other classic films, we've come up with 3 potential Star Wars spin-off movies we'd love to see...
Han Flew Over The Dooku's Nest
Set at the same time as Revenge Of The Sith. We think this would make a great family comedy style movie, in the vein of Home Alone and those kinds of films.
In Han Flew Over The Dooku's Nest, Count Dooku is having troubles with his new neighbours, the Solo's. Their young teenage Son, Han, keeps 'buzzing' over his house late at night in the spaceship he recently won. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, Dooku confronts his parents and gets him grounded for a month. But when his folks go away for the weekend to do some Womp Rat hunting, Han hops into the Millennium Falcon and sets out to pull off the ultimate prank...
Leia Cake
A much more adult themed adventure, set in the underworld of the Star Wars universe.
The Force-sensitive Clone Trooper X-1 is ordered to purchase and distribute 1 million Rancor Nail Blades by Jango Fett. He smuggles the drugs on board a Republic Alliance cruiser for transport to Mandalore. But when Princess Leia mistakes the shipment containers for Republic supplies and has them distributed amongst the crew, chaos ensues!
The Sith Sense
Set on Tatooine after the events of Return Of The Jedi, but before Episode VII, this mysteriously creepy thriller has a big twist at the end.
Though he is haunted by his own failings with his last Apprentice, Anakin, The Emperor sets out to turn another young boy towards the Dark Side. This is no ordinary child, his metachlorian count is unprecedented and the Sith Lord knows he could bring the destruction of the entire Republic Alliance.
When the boy reveals he can see the Force spirits of lost Jedi, the Emperor gains his trust by helping him communicate with them and understand their messages. Just as he feels he has the child where he wants him, the Emperor realises that he too has been communicating from beyond the grave, and relives his death at the hands of Darth Vader.
