Today, June 21st, is the Summer's Solstice. The longest day of the year. And, if for no other reason than not wanting to miss the chance of using the phrase 'A Midsummer Night's Scream', we're marking the occasion by revisiting 10 classic horror movies over the next 10 hours.
We've picked 10 horror films which span almost 75 years of cinema, including The Wolf Man (1941), The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), The Fly (1986), Saw (2004), and many more.
We get things underway shortly with the 1958 Hammer horror classic Dracula, starring Christopher Lee as the titular Count.
To get you in the mood why not check out this great clip of three amazing masters of horror, John Landis, John Carpenter, and David Cronenberg, together on a US public access show in the early 1980s discussing horror movies...
...and if you want some more horror thrills and chills then why not check out these retrospectives from our archive:
- Son of Frankenstein (1939)
- Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)
- Carrie (1976)
- Halloween (1978)
