Today In DOCTOR WHO History: June 30th

Things have got a bit animated...

Welcome to our daily round-up of the Doctor Who episodes which received their premiere broadcast on this day throughout the show's long history, along with anything else of note that may have taken place. You can click on any red text to read our full retrospectives/reviews for that episode, and note that all viewing figures listed are for UK broadcasts (unless otherwise stated).

June 30th
All the Doctor Who episodes and related programming for the show aired on this day back in 2007. First up we have the Tenth Doctor animated adventure The Infinite Quest which, if you were tuning into BB2 with the 0.63 million other fans at the ridiculously early time of 10:30am (although it actually started transmission at 10:29am, and you don't want to miss that crucial first minute, eh?), you could've seen in its entirity after being chopped up in to pieces and broadcast across the second season of Totally Doctor Who.

I jest about The Infinite Quest, but it was actually quite good and certainly got you in the mood for the big-Who day to come because it's Series Three finale time! 8.61 million tuned in for Last of the Time Lords at the much more respectable time of 7:05pm that evening.

Related Programming
Straight after the series three finale, I suspect many of you switched over to BBC Three for that week's Doctor Who Confidential episode The Valiant Quest.

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
