November 2nd
We have three first installments from their respective serials all broadcast today in Doctor Who history across the years for you today. Firstly, episode 1 of The Invasion was broadcast on November 2nd 1968. The Second Doctor adventure was watched by 7.3 million viewers. Then part one of 1987's Delta and the Bannermen, followed the next year by the opening chapter of The Happiness Patrol. Both were watched by 5.3 million viewers.

I know what you're thinking, it's a still from the new Pet Shop Boys video, right? Wrong! It's actually part two of The Empty Planet from The Sarah Jane Adventures, which was broadcast in 2010 and watched by 0.81 million.

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs aired, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
