Welcome to our daily round-up of the Doctor Who episodes which received their premiere broadcast on this day throughout the show's long history, along with anything else of note that may have taken place. May 13th
Back in 1967 we were preparing to wave goodbye to Ben & Polly at the end of episode 6 of the Second Doctor adventure The Faceless Ones, a story which was watched by 8 million viewers. Then in 1972 it's another episode 6, this time for the Third Doctor - The Mutants drawing an audience of 6.5 million.

On to new-Who and Rise of the Cybermen was broadcast this day in 2006 at 7.23pm and watched by 8.6 million viewers. Usually the Doctor Who Confidential episode which followed over on BBC Three would come up with a pun-filled title, but this week they simply plumbed for Cybermen.

Finally for today, our most recent episode of the week award goes to the 2017 adventure Oxygen. 5.27 million viewers were left gasping for breath.
