10 Things You Might Not Know About DEADPOOL 2 (2018)

There was once a time when superhero sequels were, let's face it, a mixed bag. But then along comes "DEADPOOL 2" to prove that sometimes, the second slice can be just as delicious, if not more so, than the first! But while Wade Wilson's second outing served up a plethora of jokes, gags, and fourth-wall breaks, there's a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes tidbits that even the most eagle-eyed viewer may have missed. Luckily for you, I've donned my X-Force jersey and delved deep. Let’s get into it!

The Director Dance:
Ever wondered why "DEADPOOL 2" felt a bit... different? That's because original director Tim Miller parted ways due to "creative differences". In came David Leitch, renowned for his action-packed sequences in movies like "John Wick". The result? More badassery per frame!

The Vanisher's Vanity Cameo:
In a hilarious moment, Vanisher’s true identity was revealed only when he was electrocuted, revealing none other than Brad Pitt! The superstar's cameo lasted mere seconds, but rumour has it, his payment was a simple cup of coffee. Talk about budget cuts!

Celine's Sultry Song:
Who can forget Celine Dion’s "Ashes"? But did you know Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, wrote her a heartfelt letter asking her to be part of the project? A gamble that certainly paid off. The titanic voice for a titanic sequel!

The Juggernaut Jig:
Our favourite overgrown menace, Juggernaut, was not just some CGI creation. He was voiced and performed (via motion capture) by none other than Ryan Reynolds himself. Double duty? More like Deadpool duty!

Bea and Arthur:
Gun enthusiasts might've spotted Deadpool’s dual pistols named 'Bea' and 'Arthur'. A fun nod to the beloved actress Bea Arthur from "The Golden Girls", who was a favourite of the comic book Deadpool.

Rob L.'s Coffee Cup:
In one of the prison scenes, a guard is drinking from a coffee cup labelled 'Rob L'. This is a nod to Rob Liefeld, co-creator of Deadpool. Sip on, creators, sip on.

Alpha Flight Ad:
In the background of one scene, there’s an advertisement for Alpha Flight airlines. It’s a cheeky nod to the Canadian superhero team from Marvel Comics. Oh, Canada!

An X-Force To Be Reckoned With:
While we were thrilled (and then quickly devastated) by the introduction of the X-Force, several of its members have deeper comic book origins, including Zeitgeist and Shatterstar, who had far more elaborate backstories that sadly didn't make the cut.

The 'No More X-Men' Jab:
Deadpool wonders aloud why the X-Mansion is always so empty and where the other X-Men are. In a quick shot, we see them in a room, quietly closing the door. A playful dig at the larger X-Men universe and its many, many timelines!

Post-Credit Perfection:
Perhaps one of the best post-credit scenes in superhero film history, Deadpool "fixes" timelines, including taking a jab at Ryan Reynolds for his role in "Green Lantern". Even in the credits, Wade can’t help but crack us up!

There you have it, folks. "DEADPOOL 2" may have given us a whole lot of laughs and action on the surface, but underneath, it's layered with fun facts, Easter eggs, and cheeky nods to the wider Marvel universe. And just like a chimichanga, it's the layers that make it truly delicious.
