Breaking Bad in Hull

Those pesky American TV people are always remaking our beloved British shows, The Office, Being Human, Man About The House, Top Gear, next year's Broadchurch remake to name but 5. But outside of game show formats it's very rare for us to remake any American shows (OK so there's the Jersey Shore/Geordie Shore one but we don't talk about that round these parts), yet there's a huge catalogue of opportunity available, just waiting for someone to adapt them to local British surroundings.

With that in mind then we present Breaking Bad in Hull.

Put upon chip-shop owner William 'Willie' White has just months to live and is on the verge of losing it all until he decides to start illegally fishing blue cod. He needs a boat, and that's where one of his previous Saturday boys comes in; Jake Pinkman, ex-spud peeler turned bass junkie. Together they bring home the tastiest fish the North Sea has to offer.

Willie's chip shop 'The Codfather' has never been busier, and he's looking to build an empire but can he keep his dysfunctional family together, negotiate a deal supplying the local wholesalers, George Fring & Sons, and stay one step ahead of his brother-in-law, International Fisheries Enforcement Officer, Harold Schrader?

Are you reading BBC? As a wise man once said, if you don't do it SKY will!

Who would make a good Willie White? Post your suggestions below for that and the rest of the cast of Breaking Bad in Hull.
