Things we'd like to see in 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY (but will never happen)

Work is underway on the new series of 24. It's been off the air since 2010 but Fox are bringing it back as a 12 part series to air this coming Summer.

What do we know?
  • Kiefer Sutherland is returning to the role of Jack Bauer. Along with him, Mary Lynn Rajskub is back as Chloe O'Brian, Kim Raver returns as Audrey Raines and William Devane as her Father (and now the US President!), James Heller.
  • The new series will be titled 24 : Live Another Day, the story is set to pick up four years after the series ended and is currently being filmed in London.
  • Although it's only 12 episodes the show will still be in real time. We can assume there will be time jumps in between some or all episodes.
  • Many of the original writers involved in the old series are on board too, including Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, David Fury, Manny Coto, and Robert Cochran.
  • On December 13th David Fury tweeted this...

  • So Tony Almeida could be coming back. Maybe.
  • Judy Davis was the first confirmed recurring guest star. She will play Margot, a British national and the widow of a notorious terrorist. UPDATE - It was reported on Feb 5th 2014 that Judy Davis has now left the production for personal reasons, her role will be recast.
  • The finest bit of casting so far though, has to be the inclusion of Stephen Fry as the British Prime Minister.
  • The show will begin on May 5th in the USA, and shortly after in the UK on SKY.
Aside from those nuggets we don't know much more so we've compiled a list of things we'd like to see in 24: Live Another Day, and yes, our tongue is definitely in our cheek...

1. As there are only 12 episodes in this season but it's still called 24, can we see all 24hrs at double speed? With Jack chasing criminals to the Benny Hill Yakety Sax music!

2. Jack getting on the District Line when he wanted the Circle "Dammit!". Ending up in Upminster at night and then having to wait 90 minutes for the next train back.

3. Toilet breaks for Jack Bauer. After 8 days on the job already, Jack deserves a toilet break in this show. In fact it's a good way to explain the time jumps in the 12 hour format. At around 59 minutes in Jack can say he needs a poop and enters the toilet. Next episode it's an hour later as he exits and tells the queue outside to "give it 15 minutes".

4. Jack jumping in a taxi and the cabbie refusing to go south of the river."Dammit!"

5. We really, really want Jack to go and rescue Mandy from that Defiance show she's currently in. Nobody deserves that. Even if she did infect President Palmer with a poisonous toxin. Nobody!

6. At the end of every episode, instead of the beeping digital clock, we want the camera to pan up and focus on Big Ben striking the hour.

Actually that last one we really want to see. That one would work!

What are your hopes for 24: Live Another Day?
