Peter Capaldi rides 'Gallifrey's Child' in the 3:15 from Chepstow |
Paul Wilmshurst, who has directed shows including Silent Witness, Da Vinci's Demons, Trial And Retribution and Strike Back, will be joining the other confirmed directors, Paul Murphy, Ben Wheatey and Douglas Mackinnon for Peter Capaldi's debut season.
We know that Steven Moffat has said this year will see a return to the darker Doctor Who adventures, and with every new name mentioned, both in front and behind the camera, it certainly seems to be shaping up that way.
I have a strong feeling this season may be scheduled in a slightly later time slot, say 8pm. It seems it will be more serious, and a more adult feel to the show. If it starts too early in the evening it could scare the pants of the little 'uns!
I have no problem with that.
What are your hopes for series 8 of Doctor Who?
