Martin Freeman recently dropped some interesting information about when we might see more Sherlock. If you're hoping for a new three part series over the upcoming Christmas/New Year period then that seems highly unlikely, Freeman recently said:
“I thought the plan was to do it in the autumn but apparently that’s fallen away.”But during the recording of tomorrow night's episode of the Alan Carr show Chatty Man, Freeman teased a one-off return for Sherlock and Watson:
“Mark Gatiss may beat me up, but there is an idea for this one-off special that’s such a good idea, and as I was listening to it I thought ‘we’ve just got to do this’. And I don’t know when we are going to be able to do it, unfortunately. It’s a fantastic, really mouth-watering idea. But I really don’t know when we are going to get to do it.”Any new Sherlock is welcome in my book, and if it means we get to see new adventures sooner rather than later then I'm happy to take one over three. Plus, a single annual Christmas outing could be the way forward for the series, and help to battle those pesky scheduling conflicts that the ever in demand cast face nowadays.
