If you've read the comic books then you'll know that around the time we're currently seeing on the TV show, Father Gabriel Stokes joins The Walking Dead as a recurring character. Well it looks like he might just be making his way off the page and on to the small screen, because today AMC have announced that The Wire and Teen Wolf alum Seth Gilliam has joined The Walking Dead as a new regular cast member for season 5.
Currently AMC say he will play a character referred to as Michael Todd, though his real name is being kept under wraps. 'Michael' is described as having two sides, displaying a friendly, puckish humor but also having a haunted side stemming from a dark secret.
Now they do like to mix things up a bit between the two mediums (Terminus was new, although the cannibals are not), and referring to him as Michael for now is probably just to add a bit of a surprise for long term comic fans. But Father Gabriel ticks all those boxes, he's friendly but has a certain dark secret. But if we're mixing things up, could he have Beth???
