It's in the very early stages, but there might just be a chance for Community to come back from the TV show graveyard. NBC officially cancelled Community earlier this month, at the time there were calls for Netflix or Amazon to pick up a sixth season, but a deal in place between SONY and Hulu was preventing that from happening. Hulu have the rights to exclusive web streaming for all SONY programs, although this relates to ones that have already been broadcast on Network television, it still made it impossible to shop Community around to other outlets.
It now looks as if Hulu are interested in the possibility of throwing the Dan Harmon sitcom a lifeline. "Sources stress that conversations are preliminary and it is unclear whether they would lead to a deal, but I hear there is will on both sides,” writes Nellie Andreeva on Deadline.
Dan Harmon recently revealed on his blog that he had warmed up to the possibility of continuing the show elsewhere, going from 'eh' to 'sure, let’s talk'. He also says "I’m not going to be the guy that re-cancels cancelled Community." Good job too. If this deal happens then we're half way to #sixseasonsandamovie
