If you were wondering if J.J. Abrams was going to stay on and direct Episodes VIII and IX of the new Star Wars trilogy, well wonder no more! It seems that JJ will be making a one time visit to the Star Wars universe, but the man lined up to replace him for Episode VIII is a damn fine choice - in my humble opinion that is.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that Rian Johnson is in talks with Lucasfilm to write and direct Episode VIII and provide a treatment for Episode IX. Johnson has directed three excellent feature films: Brick (2005), Brother's Bloom (2008) and Looper (2012). He's also responsible for several episodes of Breaking Bad.
Not a bad choice at all, eh?
What do you think?
