Unlike Marvel, the DC Cinematic Universe has been coughing and spluttering it's way through releases, with many being poorly received, critically mauled or lambasted for being/not being (delete as appropriate) directed by Zack Snyder.
And then there's Wonder Woman. The 2017 release was a huge success and, seemingly, loved by all. Moving the story forward 66 years to 1984, the sequel will be with us on June 5th 2020. We now have our first look at the immortal demigoddess' next big screen adventure which finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah. And boy is this trailer colourful!
Echos of the 1970s Linda Carter Wonder Woman there, no? Also, doesn't everything sound better with a bit of New Order?
Wonder Woman 1984 is directed by Patty Jenkins, from the script she wrote with Geoff Johns and David Callaham, from the story written by Johns and Jenkins. It stars Gal Gadot in the title role, with Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen in supporting roles.
