April 19th
We get things underway this week with the first installment of the epic Second Doctor adventure The War Games. Episode One was broadcast in 1969 at 5:14pm and watched by 5.5 million viewers. Moving on to 1975 and another story began, this time for the Fourth Doctor. Part one of Revenge of the Cybermen was broadcast in 1975 at 5:36pm and watched by 9.5 million viewers. Then it's new-Who time, with 2008's Planet of the Ood broadcast at 6:19pm and watched by 7.5 million viewers.

April 20th
On this day in 1968 6.9 million people were watching the Second Doctor in episode six of Fury From The Deep. Skip forward one regeneration and 6 years and we have the Third Doctor adventure The Monster of Peladon. Part five was broadcast on this day in 1974 and watched by 7.5 million. Thirty Nine years later and the Eleventh Doctor story Hide drew an audience of 6.61 million.

And it also happens to be Louise Jameson's birthday today. Famous for so many roles, not least of which Leela in Doctor Who, she graced the Earth with her heavenly presence on this day in 1951.

April 21st
It's Dalek day today, with one classic Dalek episode and one modern (not so classic) Dalek episode broadcast. The classic being the third part of 1973's Planet of the Daleks, which was watched by a mighty 10.1 million viewers. The modern being Daleks in Manhattan, an episode which was watched by 6.69 million.

April 22nd
Back to 1967 for episode 3 of the Second Doctor story The Faceless Ones, a story which was watched by 7.9 million viewers. Then in 1972 it's another episode 3, this time for the Third Doctor - The Mutants drawing the exact same size audience of 7.9 million.

On to new-Who and Tooth and Claw, broadcast this day in 2006 at 7.18pm was watched by 9.24 million viewers. Only 5/98 million were tuning in come 2017, when the Twelfth Doctor asked us all to Smile.

April 23rd
On this day in 1966 7.8 million people were watching the fourth episode of The Celestial Toymaker (titled The Final Test). The Ninth Doctor then tackled the Slitheen in World War Three, the 2005 story drawing an audience of 7.98 million. Then it's the timey-wimey Eleventh Doctor adventure The Impossible Astronaut, which was broadcast in 2011 at 6:01pm and watched by 8.86 million viewers.

April 24th
On this day in 1965 you could be forgiven for thinking that BBC cut-backs had forced William Hartnell to play multiple characters in Doctor Who, specifically having to double up as the Doctor and the Daleks for The Space Museum! Of course it was just a clever ruse, but episode one of this series did draw a huge audience of 10.5 million viewers, so maybe they were on to something!

Two regenerations and 6 years later, the Third Doctor faced episode three of Colony in Space. Broadcast Saturday April 24th 1971 at 6:13pm and watched by 9.5 million viewers. Then, on this day in 2010, 8.59 million viewers didn't dare blink during the Eleventh Doctor adventure The Time of the Angels.

April 25th
On this day in 1964 part three of The Keys of Marinus (titled The Screaming Jungle) was broadcast at 5.29pm and watched by a 9.9 million viewers. Finally for another week in Doctor Who history we finish back in 1970 with episode 6 of The Ambassadors of Death which was watched by 6.9 million.

That's it for this week, but did you watch any of these adventures live? We'd love to hear your memories about any of them. Tell us in the comments below.

Until next Sunday...
