August 18th
The sixth episode of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood: Miracle Day reached UK shores on Thursday August 18th 2011, having premiered six days earlier in the USA. Titled The Middle Men, it'll have to make up for the lack of any actual episodes from the parent series, as it is the only Doctor Who related adventure to have ever been broadcast on this day throughout the show's history. 4.6 million UK viewers watched the episode, a substantially better number than the .88 million it received on its US broadcast.

And that is the lot for today. The middle of August is a slot time for Doctor Who, but with the Autumn schedules are just around the corner a plethora of adventures in time and space await. That's all coming soon, before then join us again tomorrow for another round-up of any episodes broadcast, spin-offs, special events, birthday's celebrated or anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
