August 28th has yet to bring us a proper televised episode of Doctor Who but it did bring us the second part of the mini-adventure Pond Life. Acting as a prequel to Asylum of the Daleks, and broadcast in five installments, it was viewable on the BBC's red button service from this day in 2012, with the remaining 3 parts following daily.
Each installment took place in a consecutive month leading up to September, the launch month of series 7 of Doctor Who, and depicted a fiercely damaging argument between Amy Pond and Rory Williams that set them on the path to divorce. Which is where we find them at the beginning of Asylum of the Daleks.
