Today In DOCTOR WHO History: November 9th

It's all about the classic era today in Doctor Who history...

Click on any red text to read our full retrospectives/reviews for that episode. All viewing figures are for UK premiere broadcasts unless otherwise stated.

November 9th
Three episodes of Doctor Who have received their premiere broadcast on November 9th throughout the show's long history, the first of which is episode 2 of the Second Doctor adventure The Invasion. Broadcast November 6th 1968, it was watched by 7.1 million viewers.

Two part twos come in the form of two Seventh Doctor adventures. They are 1987's Delta and the Bannermen, and the following year's The Happiness Patrol. Respectively they were watched by 5.1 and 4.6 million viewers.

But wait! There's more 'part two' action...

Spin-Offs
The poor young fans of The Sarah Jane Adventures had to wait a whole 24 hours for the second part of the story Lost in Time. Sadly, 300,000 CBBC viewers seemed to have not got the memo as ratings were down on yesterday's opening installment, with just 0.68 million tuning in.

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs aired, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
