Times Square has an official superhero for 2014 ?!?

If you're one of those lucky people who will be in Times Square, New York to watch the ball drop tonight then look out for overhead swinging.

Spider-Man is the official Times Square superhero for 2014. Apparently.

We didn't know Times Square had itself an official superhero, but they do. It was a close one this year, we honestly thought it might be South Park's Captain Hindsight, but eventually it came down to how much money a company was prepared to pay for promotion, and Sony clearly forked out a fortune for the honour.



As well as the New Year celebrations there will be new footage from the upcoming The Amzing Spider-Man 2 broadcast on the big screens tonight, and Spidey will take part in the ball drop too.
