Will Peter Jackson direct a Doctor Who episode after all?

Speaking at the press conference for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Peter Jackson confirmed that he'd still like to direct an episode of Doctor Who. And he'd like to set it in New Zealand!

When asked if the rumours of him possibly directing an episode of the BBC TV series were true he confirmed that they were "actually kind of serious", and went on to add...
"I would be very happy to, I'd love to try my hand at television, because I've never had the discipline of having to shoot for those impossibly tiny schedules. I think I could do it okay now.

I did suggest that they did a New Zealand story - something to do with the All Blacks versus the Daleks. There's a good story in there, although obviously the All Blacks would have to win!"
We think he's joking? We hope he's joking!

We'd love to see Peter Jackson turn in an episode or two of Doctor Who, but we think he'd find it a challenge to fit it all into 45 minutes!
Imagine if he'd directed Journey To The Centre Of The Tardis.
My lord, we'd still be watching it now!

Would you like to see Peter Jackson bring his talents to Doctor Who?
