Karen Gillan's blue-skinned villainess, Nebula, is one of USA Today's '10 iconic movie characters to watch this summer'. She's rubbing shoulders with the likes of Green Goblin, Godzilla and Optimus Prime.
For those who don't know, Nebula is not one of the good guys in Guardians Of The Galaxy. Gillan says Nebula is "unapologetically so mean, she gets such an enjoyment from what she does, and what she does is so bad. She completely has a reason for being a sadist, but that may not be apparent to everybody else."
Obviously it's a big change from playing the Doctor's faithful companion, Amy Pond. Gillan shaved her head, worked out for two months and endured five hours a day in a makeup chair as her team applied Nebula's signature cybernetic eyepiece. "It really, really helps to change so drastically physically," Gillan says. "It did half the job for me. I feel like people were slightly more intimidated by me."
Guardians Of The Galaxy is released on August 1st.
