It's another high flying installment as Jack Bauer delivers once again. Brad Wilson catches us up with his review 24: Live Another Day episode 9 7pm to 8pm.
This season of 24 is locked in and just cruising higher and higher. What a spectacular episode that was! I have to admit, I’m slightly disappointed Heller didn’t really die. I was really curious to see how that storyline would’ve played out. But, he’s alive and that’s a good thing. The fact Jack was able to save the President’s life has really put him ahead of Mark in the Audrey race. Sure, Mark did what the president wanted, but Audrey knows what’s up. I have a small, growing feeling they might live happily every after because of the President’s pardon, but then I remember Mark and the Russians (worst 80s band name ever?), and that just annoys me. Why can’t Jack just be happy?

You’ve got to hand it
to Margot Al-Harazi. She was going to keep her word. Good for her.
Sadly, she was duped and tried to exact her vengeance anyway, which
leads to a very exciting open to the show with all the elements that
make 24 so amazing: action, suspense, twists, death, last minute
heroics and, as Jack put it to President Heller, Jack Bauer doing
what he knows how to do.
Jack is quarterbacking
the whole thing and from a chopper, no less. He’s got both British
and American agencies, plus Chloe, following his orders, like a boss!
It’s refreshing to have an episode where everyone just listens
to Jack! Did you see what the result was? The President is alive,
five drones were destroyed, the two remaining terror threats were
eliminated (in awesome style), and Jack guided the missile into the
water, saving millions of innocent lives. I mean, come on! Why is he
not the Secretary of Defense? It just makes sense, people.
Margot was defiant to
the end too, even pulling a gun on her son. At least she had some
balls. Also, can we talk about Jack McGeyvering whatever that was
into a rappelling rope? That was awesome! Also, I thought him pulling
Ian out the window was pretty sweet, but little did I know what was
coming. Wow. He just tossed Margot out like it was nothing. Cold
blooded!
In the midst of all
this, Jordan Reed’s body is discovered. The trajectory of the rest
of the season is now plotted out. Navarro has been found out and Jack
is giving chase. Cross wants the override device, which we discover
can basically hack any defense system out there, and that’s not
good. I don’t know where Chloe gets off bailing on Jack for Cross,
but I hope she gets what’s coming to her. I know, we all love Chloe
and her quirks, but if you throw in with Adrian Cross over Jack
Bauer, you lose my sympathies.
Judging by the previews for next week, this show is about to get better. I won’t discuss
what I saw; I’ll save it for next week. But wow, I can’t wait!
