The Truth Is Out There.....Again. THE X-FILES Returning To TV? UPDATE: Duchovny's In!

Great news.

After the success of last year's 24: Live Another Day, Fox are looking at resurrecting another of their classic shows for a new limited run 'event series'. Talks are "happening" to reunite Mulder & Scully for a return of The X-Files.
Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman today confirmed chatter that the network is in talks for a new installment of Chris Carter’s cult supernatural drama, which starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Newman went on to say he was “hopeful” about the outcome. Carter hinted at a possible reboot in the summer, acknowledging he had had conversations with Fox and 20th Century Fox TV, the studio behind X-Files.
It would be a continuation of the series, not a reboot. Both Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny would have to be on board for this to go forward, but Anderson has recently said that she'd love to return to the role. So it seems it's down to Duchovny. Hopefully they can make this work so the truth can be out there....again!

UPDATE: Jan 21st
David Duchovny is "more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again with (co-star) Gillian (Anderson) and (series creator) Chris (Carter)." As he told USA Today:
"I’m assuming that it will happen sooner rather than later now. We’ll see what form, how many (episodes). Certainly I can’t nor would I be interested in doing a full season. It will be in some kind of limited form. We’re all old, we don’t have the energy for a full season," he said with a laugh.
Now let's get Skinner, Cigarette Smoking Man (I know he was killed, but...) and the Lone Gunmen on board and we've got a party.
