Today In DOCTOR WHO History: August 11th

Burn baby burn...

Click on any red text to read our full retrospectives/reviews for that episode. All viewing figures are for UK premiere broadcasts unless otherwise stated.

August 11th
On this day in 2011 the UK caught up to the halfway stage of the bloated Torchwood: Miracle Day. The U.S.A., courtesy of premium cable channel Starz, had the pleasure (and I use that word in the loosest possible sense) of watching this episode six days earlier, but we in Blighty had to wait until 9.02pm on Thursday August 11th for part 5, titled The Categories of Life. 5.17 million turned up to the BBQ!

Birthdays
Born on August 11th 1922, Australian composer Ron Grainer is well known for his many compositions for radio, film and television, and for writing the theme tunes to a whole host of classic British programming, inc; The Prisoner, Steptoe and Son, Tales of the Unexpected and, of course, Doctor Who!

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
