That Time Jason Statham Was In An Erasure Music Video

He's back in his pants and shakin' it again...

Hollywood hardman Jason Statham got his big break when cast as "Bacon" in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. But Guy Ritchie's 1998 crime comedy thriller was not the first time the Stath had appeared in a filmed production, that came in 1993 when, at the age of 26, he donned a pair of leopard skin pants, oiled up his physique and shook his money maker in music video for British electronic dance act The Shamen's then-latest single Comin' On.

You can watch that music promo masterpiece here, and I implore you to do so. Clearly many people did and they were impressed with what they saw, meaning Jason Statham quickly found himself offered another gig. This time for synth-pop duo Erasure.

Sprayed silver and swapping the leopard skintight pants for skimpy shorts, Jason Statham shows off some similar moves, stretching like some kind of yoga professional and perfecting posing with his arms at various angles whilst looking into middle distance. There's even a backflip involved.

His previous turn dancing for The Shamen (the track Comin' On being part of the The SOS EP) saw him help the group reach no. #14 in the UK singles chart. One year later, in 1994 Jason Statham scored his first top 10 hit, in a sense. Propelling Erasure and their track Run To The Sun to no. #6 in the charts.

So without further ado, what are you waiting for? Enjoy Jason Statham in the 1994 music video for Run To The Sun by Erasure...
