Today In DOCTOR WHO History: August 3rd

Down with those summer schedules!

August 3rd
Sadly no episodes of Doctor Who have received their debut broadcast on this day throughout the show's history. Poor old Nine is gutted. Not fantastic at all!

Days like this do happen, thankfully across the 55+ years there's only a dozen or so completely Who-free days in the entire year. But, as you've been kind enough to come visit us, when we do get a day with no new Doctor Who we like to share a random bit of nonsense with you from something Doctor related. Today is no exception.

Ladies and gentlemen, enjoy a few minutes in the company of Jon Pertwee, appearing as a guest on Good Morning with Anne and Nick to announce a winner to their 1993 30th Anniversary Doctor Who competition. Not only does Jon totally undermine the competition result, he is then unable to find an actual winner. What follows, then, is a brilliant moment of how not to run a competition on live TV...

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
