Today In DOCTOR WHO History: September 18th

Anyone got any Brasso?

Click on any red text to read our full retrospectives/reviews for that episode. All viewing figures are for UK premiere broadcasts unless otherwise stated.

September 18th
We turn the clock back to 1965 for part 2 of Galaxy 4 (titled Trap of Steel) which was watched by 9.5 million viewers. Then in 1976 we have part three of The Masque of Mandragora which was broadcast that Saturday evening at 6:11pm, and watched by 9.20 million viewers.

And they are the only two episodes of Doctor Who to receive their UK premiere broadcasts to date, but something else was shown on TV for the first time on September 18th although this was in the USA...

Minisodes
Above you can watch The Doctor's Meditation, the prequel to the ninth series of Doctor Who which was shown in cinemas in the USA, Denmark, Russia and Canada on September 15th 2015 as a bonus feature with the double-bill of the 3D-converted versions of Dark Water and Death in Heaven. It was later released online in the U.K. and around the world, as well as being broadcast on BBC America on Friday September 18th 2015 at 10pm..

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
