September 2nd
Don't open that door, it's The Tomb of the Cybermen. And that 1967 stone cold classic gets us underway for another round-up of all things Doctor Who that went down on this day in the show's long history. Episode 1 of the Second Doctor Adventure was broadcast on Saturday September 2nd '67 and watched by 6 million viewers.

Another opening installment but this time for the Fourth Doctor, it's the 1978 adventure The Ribos Operation. Part One was watched by 8.30 million viewers.

Spin-Offs
We have to take a short transatlantic trip for our next episode - or it would be short if we had a TARDIS, Dammit! Those people living Stateside who had the cable channel Starz could watch the ninth and penultimate installment of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Entitled The Gathering, it was broadcast in 2011 and watched by 1.05 million viewers, who at this point likely just felt they had to see it through to the end!

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
