October 14th
We're flipping things up today and starting with a celebration because October 14th is Katy Manning's birthday. Born this day in 1946, Manning played Jo Grant for three years opposite Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor, and is one of the most beloved companions of the classic era of Doctor Who.

Happy birthday to you.

Episodes Broadcast
Now, down to the business of rounding up all the episodes of Doctor Who which received their debut broadcast on this day throughout the show's history, and October 14th brings us three of them.

First, it's part three of The Abominable Snowmen which was broadcast in 1967 and watched by 7.1 million viewers. Then, in 1978, we have 8.2 million viewers watching the Fourth Doctor in the third part of The Pirate Planet.

2018 saw 9 million UK viewers there for the second episode of series eleven when the Thirteenth Doctor was reunited with her TARDIS toward the culmination of The Ghost Monument, which debuted on Sunday October 14th.

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs aired, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
