Which recent Oscar winner is reading for a part in STAR WARS EPISODE VII ?

I completely appreciate that barely a week goes by when we are not reporting about particular actors or actresses up for a part in the new Star Wars movie. Honestly though, I do try to weed out the 'crazy' rumours and only go with the 'trusted' sources, the ones who have a very good track record of correctly revealing these things in advance. And it's from two of these sources that we have the news of a recent Oscar winner close to a deal with Disney & LucusFilm for a major role in Star Wars Episode VII.

Latino Review are reporting that this years best supporting actress, Lupita Nyong'o has been reading for a part in Episode VII for over the past month and she’s extremely close to signing onto the movie.

They claim that The 12 Year's A Slave star is being lined up to play a female Sith.

Interestingly, The Hollywood Reporter are also reporting that Nyong'o is linked to the movie, although they speculate her role will be as a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Granddaughter?), which has often been described as that of a non-Caucasian role.

We have heard that the real focus of the new trilogy, amongst the younger cast that is, will be the female character, and it's not something people will initially realise until we go into Episode VIII.

I personally really hope this pans out. Having someone like Nyong'o on board, and in a central role, would certainly alleviate my concerns of ending up with another wooden Hayden Christensen type actor taking the lead.

I trust JJ will do the right thing.
