There are huge Star Wars: Episode VII spoilers below. Really. Massive. So if you don't want to know the plot, or who the villains of the film are, or even which character is making a surprise return then leave now!! Don't say I didn't warn you.
Still here?
Well OK then.
Latino Review have themselves some Star Wars: Episode VII scoop, and it's a doozy!
You may remember about a month back there was a leak regarding the plot for Episode VII. Basically, it went like this...
Imagine the standard Star Wars crawl, and when it ends the camera pans up to the stars. But instead of a spaceship zooming into frame we see... a hand! A severed hand, tumbling through space. A severed hand gripping a light saber....well now we know more!
That hand falls onto a desert planet, where it is discovered by characters who will be our heroes. One is Daisy Ridley. The other is John Boyega, who is playing someone trying to change his path in life (again, I'm keeping it vague here). They recognize the light saber as a Jedi relic and decide to return it to the proper people.
Their quest takes them off world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren't flying around in the Millennium Falcon anymore but are piloting... well, that could be a spoiler. I'll leave it. Anyway, Han and Chewie recognize the light saber as Luke's, and they say they haven't seen their friend in thirty years, since the events of Return of the Jedi.
So begins a quest to find the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems...
After Daisy Ridley
and John Boyega's characters team up with Han Solo and Chewbacca on their hunt for Luke we discover that Luke has been
missing since the events of Return of the Jedi not because he's
in hiding, but because he's being held captive by the Inquisitors!
The inquisitors are defenders of the Sith Order who have
been around for a very long time. This would explain how Episode VII and the Star Wars Rebels animated series will be connected, as the latter will feature an Inquisitor character.
But wait, there's more!
After Luke is found we will see a flashback showing how the Inquisitors have been working with the Sith all along. The recently cast Billie Lourd - who is Carrie Fisher's daughter in real life - will play a young Princess Leia in the flashback AND we will also see the brief on-screen return of Darth Vader!!! He'll be giving the Inquisitors their orders.
Cool, eh?
About 200 years ago when they announced Episode VII was being made (it was actually only 20 months but it feels like 200 years), Darth Vader was one of the 7 things we wanted to see in Star Wars: Episode VII. I knew it would be a challenge to get him in there, but it really wouldn't be a Star Wars film without the big guy, would it?
Oh, and one last thing. The reason Han and Chewie don't have the Millennium Falcon now is that it is in the possession of Oscar
Isaacs character. Don't know why as yet.
So What do y'all think about these
latest Star Wars: Episode VII plot details?
