Today In DOCTOR WHO History: January 30th

Toga! Toga! Toga! Toga!..

Welcome to our daily round-up of the Doctor Who episodes which received their premiere broadcast on this day throughout the show's long history, along with anything else of note that may have taken place. You can click on any red text to read our full retrospectives/reviews for that episode, and note that all viewing figures listed are for UK broadcasts (unless otherwise stated).

January 30th
January 30th is Daphne Ashbrook's birthday. She played Dr Grace Holloway, the companion, of sorts, to the Eighth Doctor in the 1996 TV Movie. Thirty ones years before that, episode three of the pure historical adventure The Romans (entitled Conspiracy) premiered and was watched by 10 million viewers. Two regenerations and 6 years later - as in 1971 - the Third Doctor began a new adventure, as 6.1 million tuned into The Mind Of Evil. We also have the Torchwood episode To the Last Man broadcast on this day in 2008 at 9:00pm and watched by 3.51 million viewers.

Join us again tomorrow for another round-up of the episodes broadcast, the spin-offs aired, the special events, the birthday's celebrated and anything else of note that went down on this day in Doctor Who history.
