Best Actors in Casino Movies

Hollywood loves the casino. For filmmakers, casinos are excellent places to set a scene or even an entire movie. It’s something about the drama and eclectic nature of casinos that’s appealing. Casinos can be mega-sophisticated or casual, making them flexible locations for movies of all kinds. Of course, we can all identify with the make or break nature of casinos, making them excellent metaphors for life stories.

Plenty of Hollywood starts have appeared in movies that feature casinos, so here are some of the most famous who have been in the best casino movies of all time:
Robert De Niro
Perhaps the most respected actor of all-time, and widely considered one of the best, Robert De Niro is known for is eclectic career. He has appeared in all types of movies from dramas to comedies, and action to horror. De Niro has also appeared in a couple of casino movies, one more “classic” than the other.

Casino: While “Casino” is often considered one of Martin Scorsese’s lesser efforts, it has entered an era of appreciation in recent years. We now see it as the ode to Las Vegas before the big resorts turned the city into a vacation town. Money, greed, power, and gangster villainy are at the center of Casino, as they were at the heart of Vegas through the 1960s and 1970s. YYY casino review.

De Niro plays a casino operator who uses mafia hit man (Joe Pesci) to do his dirty work. However, the film charts the fall from grace for the group as they criminal ways catch up with them.

Las Vegas
: The lesser of De Niro’s casino movies, “Las Vegas” is still an entertaining enough watch about four aging friends who head to Vegas to celebrate one of them finally getting married after decades being single. It is the “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” cliché, but with old men.
George Clooney
Known as one of the suavest actors in Hollywood, George Clooney brought all his charm to the Ocean’s trilogy (Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve, and Ocean’s Thirteen). The quintessential George Clooney performance, his turn as Danny Ocean was a role the actor was born to play.

Ocean’s Trilogy: Perhaps the first films people think of when trying to name a casino movie, the Ocean’s series is an excellent mix of comedy, high stakes, banter, and set pieces. They represent perhaps the best example of the heist movie, delivering some truly spectacular heist scenes. While the first movie, Ocean’s Eleven, is the bona fide classic of the trilogy, the sequels are also worth checking out.

With a stellar cast including Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Al Pacino, you get plenty of star power in these movies.

Brad Pitt
While most know Brad Pitt as a heartthrob, he has also carved out a reputation as an amazing actor and one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Like George Clooney, Pitt appeared in the Ocean’s Trilogy, providing a perfect companion for Clooney’s Danny Ocean. If you want an example of actor chemistry when delivering zippy dialog, check out Pitt’s performances in the Ocean films.

Killing Them Softly: Brad Pitt also tackled the casino theme in the hard hitting drama Killing Them Softly. He plays a mob enforcer tasked with taking out three criminals who steal from a card game. The theft took down the local crime ring, brining Pitt’s enforcer Jackie Cogan into the action.
